Single-visit shrub trimming for a typical residential property runs $200–$600 depending on number of shrubs, type and condition. Seasonal contracts (spring + summer + fall touch-up) typically run $400–$1,200 for the year. Commercial pricing is by route time and shrub count. When To Trim Each Shrub Type

Timing matters more than technique with shrubs. Trim at the wrong time of year and you cut off next season's flowers. Our crew schedules each visit around what's on your property:

• Early spring (March–April): Cut back ornamental grasses, prune summer-blooming shrubs (panicle hydrangea, butterfly bush, spirea), shape evergreens. Most general shrub trimming happens here.
• After spring bloom (May–June): Lilacs, forsythia, weigela, viburnum and big-leaf hydrangeas get pruned right after they finish flowering — never in spring before they bloom.
• Mid-summer (July): Boxwood and yew touch-ups, hedge re-shaping, rose deadheading. Light formative pruning on younger shrubs.
• Fall (October): Light cleanup only. Heavy pruning in fall stimulates new growth that gets killed by the first hard freeze.
